Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information ትግ Scramble and አማ Scramble (collectively, the “App”) collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.

1Who we are

2What information we collect

2.1 Account information (if you create an account)

When you sign in, our authentication provider (Supabase Auth) records:

  • your email address
  • a hashed password or an OAuth token (if you sign in with a third-party provider)
  • a unique user ID generated for your account
  • sign-in timestamps used to secure your account

2.2 Gameplay data

To power features like scores, daily challenges, and streaks, we store:

  • rounds played, words solved, hints used
  • scores, streaks, and difficulty level
  • app language preference and theme preference
  • game session metadata (start time, duration)

This data is linked to your user ID.

2.3 Device and advertising identifiers

The App shows ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may access your device's advertising ID and related signals to serve ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud. You can reset or limit your advertising ID at any time in your device settings.

2.4 Technical and diagnostic data

Like most apps, we may receive basic technical data including:

  • app version, OS version, device model
  • crash logs and error reports (if you do not disable them)
  • approximate network connectivity status

2.5 What we do NOT collect

  • Precise GPS location
  • Contacts, calendar, or photos
  • Microphone or camera input
  • Financial information (the App is free; no in-app purchases at this time)

3How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • authenticate you and keep your account secure
  • save and sync your progress, scores, and preferences
  • operate features like daily challenges
  • serve and measure ads (AdMob)
  • diagnose crashes and improve the App
  • comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not share your personal data with any other third parties for their own marketing.

5Data retention

  • Account data is retained while your account exists.
  • Gameplay data is retained while your account exists and may be aggregated anonymously after account deletion.
  • Advertising identifiers are handled according to AdMob's retention rules.
  • Crash logs are typically retained for up to 90 days.

6Children's privacy

The App is intended for a general audience, including children ages 8+ (with adult awareness). We do not knowingly collect more personal information from children than is necessary to provide the game.

We do not serve behaviorally targeted ads to users we know to be under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information that should be removed, contact us at oneoptimumsolutions@gmail.com.

This App complies with COPPA and Google Play's Families policy for child-directed content.

7Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and data (“right to erasure”)
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time

Advertising choices

  • On Android: Settings → Google → Ads to reset your advertising ID.
  • On iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising to turn off Personalized Ads.

8Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including HTTPS/TLS in transit, access controls on our database, and password hashing. No system is perfectly secure — if you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately.

9International data transfers

Supabase and Google operate globally. Your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) for those transfers.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and — where required — notify you inside the App or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
